Wexford Sea Salt
Blackwater, County Wexford
Harvested by hand from the pristine waters of the Irish Sea along the sunny southeast coast of Ireland. No chemicals. No anti-caking agents. Nothing added and nothing taken away.
Where exactly does this come from? Ballyvaldon, Blackwater, County Wexford. The seawater is drawn directly from the Irish Sea along the Wexford coastline. One of Ireland's most productive and least industrialised coastal stretches.
How is it made or harvested? Hand-collected seawater is transported to the production site, where it flows through a sequence of evaporative ponds. Salt brines crystallise in the final ponds before the harvested salt is dried under the sun and packed for delivery. The entire operation runs on 100% off-grid renewable energy and is packaged in reusable, recycled materials.
What is in it? Solar evaporated and hand-harvested natural sea salt. No boiling, washing, bleaching, no post-harvest treatments and no anti-caking agents. One ingredient. The Irish Sea.
Why does this meet the Provenance standard? Recommended by McKenna Guides and recognised for its commitment to traditional methods, local sourcing and the unique coastal character of Wexford. The production process is transparent, the location is named, the energy is renewable and the product contains exactly what it says it does.
